Review of "When Frost Was Spectre Grey" by Nicola Italia

In the bleak midwinter of Yorkshire (author York is the town, the countryside is Yorkshire) a young woman is summoned to the Grange a large countryhouse. The owner has recently died and ordered in his will to invite people to come and hear the will eading. If they do not show up they will not receive their  bequest. She has to be present in her role as investigator to be witness to the whole procedure. She has no idea why but is paid to do so.

It turns out all present have a common history and then a snowstorm locks them in.

The whole idea is an often used storyline of a group of people forced to be in a place. The wold building is done quite well. Also the characters are thee dimensional. It is too bad she sometimes switches characters what made me realise the outcome a bit early on.

4 stars out of 5

Advice: change the book cover for instance to a manor surrounded by snow.
